Columbus Area Unemployment Rate Declines

In December of 2015 a total of 15,200 people were unemployed. The unemployment rate was recorded at 4.7% last month. Jobs that gained were in the sectors of transportation, trade, and utilities. Health and education employment increased to over 4,500 jobs. Even manufacturing gained a total of 3,200 jobs. This increase in employment may be due to that fact that recreational establishments recently opened back up just in time for ski season.

The species of Northern long-eared bats, also known as the Northern Myotis, is reported to have been moving towards the grave danger of extinction or complete disappearance. Measuring an average size of 8.6 cm in total length, this species of long-eared bats is the key bat native of Northern America.

The primary reason of their move-out is said to be a widely rampant fungal disease, which is also known as white-nose syndrome. The disease or syndrome has not only caused them to leave their native place, but also has led to a severe decrease in their population.

Moving in and out from a state is common when numbers of movers are low, but in 2015, Ohio has witnessed concerning high move-outs as per the study done by Van Lines and the 39th annual national movers. The report reveals that almost 59 % movers in the state are actually exiting the state, and not willing to come back.

Ohio Tax Agency Reports Increase In Fraudulent Tax Returns

The state of Ohio has perceived perhaps one of the highest numbers of taxation fraud in 2015. The attempts by scammers to steal the state’s money through fraudulent methods have increased in comparison to last year wherein the Ohio Department of Taxation has supposedly put a ban on more than 168,000 fraudulent returns – which is technically double of 64,000 returns that were reported to be intercepted all through the year.

Browns Players Holiday Giveaway

The Cleveland Browns and their staff decked the halls of the training facility this year. The halls of the facility were lined with hundreds of Christmas gifts. This team and all of it members have no shortage of holiday spirit that’s for sure. The donated gifts were a variety of full of new clothes, toys, and much more. These gifts are going to the children in the Foster Care programs. Over one hundred and fifty children have been provided with the joys of a opening presents on Christmas. The Browns and staff teamed up with local Cuyahoga County Department of Children and Family Services and the Lorain County Child Services to make the Christmas wishes of these children come true. The team and staff have taken part in a program dubbed the Giving Tree program which enabled them to work jointly with these Ohio counties.
